Abstract
Artificial intelligence, specialized automation, and embodied systems are changing the human labor time required for production and services. Greater productive capacity, however, does not automatically ensure that households can continue to obtain the resulting goods and services. Drawing on public research, corporate disclosures, and policy documents, this paper distinguishes technical capabilities, actual deployment, task changes, organizational adjustments, and macroeconomic outcomes. It uses scenario analysis to examine transmission mechanisms linking production, income, demand, and reproduction. The analysis considers US–China capabilities and competition, repeated occupational transitions, the allocation of productivity gains, household debt, investment returns, and pension commitments. Income losses and financing adjustments may reinforce one another through demand, orders, and credit. The paper proposes strengthening and extending existing basic living protections before disruptions accumulate. Where supply becomes reliable, widely accessible, and sustainable, it explores resource-access arrangements combining basic entitlements with voluntary contribution-based rewards. Temporary operational intervention requires a separate assessment of necessity, authority, capacity, and exit. These are conditional analyses and exploratory institutional proposals: local cases are not treated as proof of economy-wide net job losses, and no definite crisis date is predicted.
